This introductory course is an overview of building automation systems, in which students design a complete BAS on paper across a term-long project alongside hands-on activities to digest the topics. Some of the hands- on activities include: wiring transformers and relays, exam- ining sensors and actuators, terminating BACnet wire and making up RJ45 connectors. Instructor demonstrations cover multimeter readings, a fully wired VAV box and its point-to- point checkout, and a tour of the building’s own mechanical room and front-end graphics. No prior control experience is assumed. 4.0 CEUs.
